What is Dublin Business School MBA, and what does it cost?
DBS runs one MBA with eight specialisation streams, all on a single page, and the parchment names none of them. Non-EU tuition is EUR 14,500 for the year, about INR 15.96 lakh, which makes it the cheaper of the two MBAs in this set and cheaper than DBS’s own analytics master’s.
The unusual thing is who it will take. Most MBAs want years of management behind you. This one asks for a 2.2 honours degree in any discipline and no work experience at all on the standard route. Experience only appears as a fallback for applicants who don’t hold that degree.
How much does Dublin Business School MBA cost?
The upper one-year plan is EUR 36,460, or about INR 40.12 lakh. The DBS international fee sheet supplies tuition, while the other rows are separately cited planning inputs. That figure is the cheaper of the two MBAs in this set and sits below the college’s own analytics master’s.
| Item | INR | Local currency | When it is due |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tuition, full programme | INR 15.96 lakh | EUR 14,500 | DBS requires full first-year tuition before the course starts |
| Dublin living plan | INR 23.77 lakh | EUR 21,600 | Across one year |
| Single-entry visa | INR 0.07 lakh | EUR 60 | At visa application |
| Immigration registration | INR 0.33 lakh | EUR 300 | After arrival, if applicable |
| Upper one-year planning total | INR 40.12 lakh | EUR 36,460 | Across the full programme |
The EUR 10,000 immigration finance floor is evidence for a visa decision, not this Dublin budget. Converted at EUR 1 = INR 110.0485, the ECB reference rate for 1 September 2026. Bank spreads, flights, insurance and refundable housing deposits are excluded.
The DBS 2026/27 fee schedule sets the full-time non-EU fee at EUR 14,500. It says the fee includes tuition, registration, assessment, protection of enrolled learners and award charges, while books are excluded. The payment sequence that the visa depends on is set out in the application section.
DBS does not publish a complete current monthly living budget on the programme page. The table therefore uses Dublin City University’s upper EUR 1,800 monthly student estimate as an independent city planning input. Twelve months produce EUR 21,600. This is deliberately labelled as a Dublin estimate, not a DBS fee or promise.
The Irish immigration evidence floor is EUR 10,000 for a one-year course. It answers whether funds can be demonstrated to the visa authority. The EUR 21,600 row answers a different question: what an upper city plan looks like when rent and ordinary spending are treated conservatively.
The EUR 60 visa fee and EUR 300 registration fee are consumed charges when applicable. The visa payment covers processing rather than approval, so it doesn’t buy a visa decision. DBS tuition is shown once, and an offer payment credited to tuition is not added again to the full-programme total.
Private medical insurance is required for the immigration route, but no single current premium applies to every applicant and policy. It remains outside the total instead of inserting a false universal number. Flights, initial household purchases and refundable rental deposits also sit outside the comparison.
The INR value uses the European Central Bank rate of 110.0485 on 1 September 2026. At that rate, tuition alone is INR 15.96 lakh. A five percent rupee weakening would increase the converted euro total by roughly five percent before a bank spread or transfer charge.
DBS permits only one scholarship or discount scheme in an academic year and states that courses remain subject to sufficient student numbers. A discount should reduce an already affordable plan. It should not be the only reason the tuition and housing cash flow appears possible.
The fee sheet also sets restrictive refund conditions and a specific visa-refusal process. The consumed-cost plan therefore needs a separate cash-flow view: when tuition leaves the account, when housing needs a deposit and when a refund would be available if a documented visa refusal fits the stated terms.
Can an Indian applicant get into Dublin Business School MBA?
A Level 8 honours degree at 2.2 in any discipline gets you in, and work experience is not required on that route. If you don’t hold the degree, DBS makes the GMAT mandatory rather than optional, and the QQI record confirms the award runs to 2030.
| Requirement | Published rule | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Academic award (India) | A Level 8 honours bachelor degree at 2.2 in any discipline, or a listed equivalent route | Upload the award and complete transcripts |
| Programme evidence (India) | Applicants without the stated Level 8 award may use the listed Level 6 EQF degree, ACCA or CIMA routes. GMAT is mandatory for applicants who lack a Level 8 honours bachelor degree at 2.2. RPL applicants need at least three years of work experience and may face an interview or GMAT. | Map modules, experience and route evidence |
| English (India) | IELTS Academic 6.0 overall or another accepted B2+ equivalent | Use a certificate dated within two years where required |
| Selection (India) | GMAT only on some routes | Prepare the route-specific evidence |
| Application file (India) | Academic documents, transcripts, English evidence, CV and passport | Upload clear English copies through the DBS form |
| Student finance (India) | EUR 10,000 plus tuition for a one-year course | Keep visa evidence separate from the Dublin budget |
The GMAT condition is stricter on DBS’s own page than in the QQI record, which describes it as something that may be required. Work to the course page, because that is the stricter of the two and the one admissions applies.
DBS publishes no India percentage or CGPA conversion anywhere. Its India page is an agent list, and its one binding rule is that tuition must be paid before the study visa is issued.
What most applicants miss
The stream you pick never appears on the certificate
DBS advertises eight MBA streams, from Project Management to Cloud Computing to Law, and each has its own marketing URL. Every one of those URLs redirects to a single course page, and QQI holds one validated programme titled plainly Master of Business Administration. The stream is two elective modules out of ninety credits, chosen after enrolment. If you are picking DBS because a specialism will appear on your qualification, it will not.
DBS states in its own words that it is not accredited
The recognition page says“DBS is a member of the AACSB Business Education Alliance. Membership in AACSB, and participation in the Business Education Alliance, does not imply accreditation.”Dublin Business School, recognition and accreditation
There is no AMBA and no EQUIS either. For an MBA that is the first question most buyers ask, and DBS answers it in a disclaimer rather than in the brochure. QQI validates the award at Level 9, which is a real quality signal and a different thing. There is no dissertation, and the reason is on the record
The capstone is a 30 credit Business Simulation, run as group work with an external platform and no timetabled contact hours. It replaced a dissertation at the 2025 revalidation, and the QQI panel recorded the reason as a rise in academic impropriety cases driven by generative AI. If your plan after this is a PhD or anything that wants a supervised research piece, this is the wrong DBS programme and the MSc siblings all keep one.
How should you apply for Dublin Business School MBA?
DBS accepts a direct online application and currently shows September 2026 as the next intake. The programme page publishes no fixed closing date, so the date below is explicitly an internal planning target. No closing date is published, and DBS says places go to whoever applied first if the programme fills, which makes timing the only lever you hold.
The route is one direct DBS application with the exact programme selected and academic documents, transcripts, English evidence, CV and passport attached.
| Start by | Task | Days | Why this date |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 Jul 2026 | Complete English evidence | 45 | Allow forty-five days for preparation, a recognised test and the result when evidence is still missing. |
| 19 Aug 2026 | Prepare the application file | 10 | Allow ten days for transcripts, translations, CV, passport and readable uploads. |
| 24 Aug 2026 | Audit the academic route | 5 | Allow five days to map the award, modules and experience to the course rule. |
| 29 Aug 2026 | Submit the DBS application | 2 | Allow two days for upload review and correction before submission. |
The allowances are Nbyula planning estimates, not processing times published by Dublin Business School.
The intake is live on the course page, but the absence of a fixed closing date removes certainty rather than creating unlimited time. Programme availability, visa preparation and the DBS condition that full tuition be paid before the course starts all become practical constraints for an Indian applicant in late August.
Academic fit is established before submission. Applicants without the stated Level 8 award may use the listed Level 6 EQF degree, ACCA or CIMA routes. GMAT is mandatory for applicants who lack a Level 8 honours bachelor degree at 2.2. RPL applicants need at least three years of work experience and may face an interview or GMAT. A portal upload cannot repair a missing subject, mathematics credit, graduate-membership condition or experience route after the file reaches Admissions.
English evidence and document preparation can proceed together. A recognised result must still be valid for the course start, and every translated record must remain readable beside the original. The curriculum vitae should evidence the experience used for any RPL or non-cognate route.
The international document list names academic documents, transcripts, English evidence, a curriculum vitae and passport. The programme page remains the authority for any additional route-specific material. The direct form is the submission channel, while decisions and conditions remain with DBS.
An offer changes the work from eligibility to cash flow. The fee sheet says full first-year tuition must be paid before the course begins for visa and residence purposes. Financial evidence, insurance and housing therefore need to be prepared while the admission file is under review, not after every other step is complete.
The local target makes the timing risk visible. A missing English result with a forty-five-day allowance does not fit inside the remaining September 2026 window. In that case the next confirmed intake is safer than presenting an incomplete file or paying non-refundable costs under pressure.
The timeline counts back from Nbyula’s local file-completion target. It is not a closing date stated by DBS and should be replaced when a formal deadline appears.
What jobs and work rights follow Dublin Business School MBA?
DBS publishes no graduate employer list, placement rate or salary for this MBA. What exists instead sits in the QQI record and its panel report, and it describes who is in the room rather than where they end up, which is unusual and genuinely useful.
| Measure | Figure | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| MBA accreditation | None | DBS states AACSB membership does not imply accreditation; no AMBA, no EQUIS |
| Cohort origin | 83% from Asia | DBS's own figure for 2022/23, recorded in the QQI panel report |
| Validated class ratio | 1:75 | For lectures and online sessions, raised from a previous 1:150 |
| Capstone | Business Simulation | 30 credits, group assessed, no dissertation option |
| Work placement | None | Every module in the validated schedule records zero work-based learning hours |
Harvey Norman, Microsoft and Lidl appear on the DBS site as corporate training clients, not as employers of graduates. They are not destinations.
An 83% Asian cohort is worth knowing before you arrive, in both directions. It means a class that understands the position you are in, and it means the local network an MBA is often bought for will be thinner than the brochure photographs suggest.
Whether a management role carries a work permit afterwards is decided by occupation code rather than job title. The Critical Skills list is where that is settled, and general management is not on it the way ICT roles are.
Who should apply to Dublin Business School MBA, and who should not?
This suits someone who wants an affordable Level 9 management year and doesn’t need an accreditation badge or a dissertation. It’s one of the few MBAs that will take a recent graduate, and post-study rights come from the Third Level Graduate Programme rather than from the degree.
| Verdict | Your background | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Strong fit | A recent graduate with a 2.2 who wants an MBA without waiting three years | DBS asks for no work experience on the standard route, which is rare for an MBA. |
| Strong fit | Someone weighing cost against brand | At EUR 14,500 it is cheaper than DBS's own analytics master's and far below a university MBA. |
| Needs evidence | An applicant without a Level 8 at 2.2 | The route exists but DBS makes the GMAT mandatory rather than optional. |
| Do not shortlist | Anyone who needs AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS accreditation | DBS publishes a disclaimer saying its AACSB membership does not imply accreditation. |
| Do not shortlist | Anyone planning a PhD or needing a supervised dissertation | The capstone is a group business simulation and the dissertation was removed in 2025. |
| Do not shortlist | Anyone counting on a placement | The validated schedule records zero work-based learning hours across every module. |
The stream question is the one to settle first, because it changes nothing on the certificate and everything about two of your modules. Read the elective list rather than the eight marketing pages, since all eight lead to the same place.
If the research piece matters, the MSc in Marketing at the same college keeps a dissertation and offers a placement alternative, and the MSc in Business Analytics keeps one too.
What does the Dublin Business School MBA curriculum contain?
The published award structure carries 90 ECTS across 1 year full-time. The table shows the current credit shape and the prose explains what it requires. Six core modules, a ten credit research module and two electives that decide the stream, then a thirty credit group business simulation in place of a dissertation.
| Component | ECTS | Where it sits |
|---|---|---|
| Semester 1 core | 30 | Six mandatory 5 ECTS modules |
| Semester 2 research and electives | 30 | Research plus two 10 ECTS electives |
| Semester 3 Business Simulation | 30 | Mandatory capstone |
| Total | 90 |
- Complete the full 90 ECTS award
- Use the programme-specific route and capstone
- Recheck the intake structure before enrolment
The opening study includes Risk and Change for Global Issues, Managerial Financial Analysis, Strategic Marketing Analysis. These modules show the assumed level more clearly than the degree title. A student enters a compressed Level 9 timetable while also learning how the subject is assessed at DBS.
The later taught work includes Strategic Planning and Management, Dynamic Leadership Development, Sustainable Operations Management. The value lies in connecting those subjects across assignments and decisions, rather than treating every module as a separate certificate or job promise.
The final work includes Conducting Research for Business, Business Simulation. No placement appears in the published 90 ECTS structure. The output is strongest as evidence when the learner can explain the problem, method, judgement and result without overstating external employer involvement.
Delivery mixes campus contact with live online or on-demand work according to the course. Hybrid does not mean optional attendance. Timetabled sessions, group work, technical demonstrations, oral work and capstone supervision still create fixed obligations across the short full-time duration.
Should you shortlist Dublin Business School MBA?
Shortlist this if the price and the Level 9 award are the point and an accreditation badge is not. DBS’s own recognition page is where the accreditation question gets answered, and it answers it in a disclaimer rather than a claim.
Ninety credits over a year, nine taught modules and a thirty credit group business simulation. Six core modules cover risk and change, managerial financial analysis, strategic marketing, strategic planning, leadership development and sustainable operations, then a ten credit research module and two electives that define whichever stream you end up on.
Three published facts decide whether this is right. There is no AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS accreditation. There is no dissertation, because it was replaced after academic impropriety cases involving generative AI. And the stream you choose is invisible on the award. None of that makes it a bad degree, and all of it makes it a different one from what the eight marketing pages suggest.

Frequently asked questions
What is the total cost of Dublin Business School MBA for an Indian student?
The upper one-year plan is EUR 36,460, or about INR 40.12 lakh. It combines EUR 14,500 tuition, EUR 21,600 for Dublin living, the EUR 60 visa fee and EUR 300 registration. Insurance, flights, bank spreads and refundable housing deposits remain extra.
What is the entry requirement for Dublin Business School MBA?
The published route is a level 8 honours bachelor degree at 2.2 in any discipline, or a listed equivalent route. DBS makes the final decision from the official file.
What English score does DBS require for MBA?
The published threshold is CEFR B2+. The central DBS policy maps this to IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 76, PTE Academic 52 or another listed equivalent. It publishes no IELTS subscore floor. Recognised test evidence must be within two years.
When is the Dublin Business School MBA deadline?
DBS shows September 2026 as the next intake but the checked programme page publishes no fixed closing date. The 31 August date in the timeline is an Nbyula file-completion target, not a DBS deadline.
Does Dublin Business School MBA guarantee a placement?
No. No placement appears in the published 90 ECTS structure. DBS publishes no placement guarantee or cohort placement percentage for this programme. The checked evidence supports course activity and career direction, not a promised employer seat.
Which jobs follow Dublin Business School MBA?
DBS connects the course with management, business development, consultancy, project management, marketing, sales, finance and entrepreneurship. It publishes no programme salary distribution or placement probability, so these are directions rather than promised outcomes.
Can a DBS Level 9 graduate stay in Ireland after study?
An eligible Level 9 graduate may receive twelve months under the Irish Third Level Graduate Programme and may qualify for a second twelve months after showing appropriate steps towards graduate employment. Every immigration condition applies, and the permission does not guarantee a job or employment permit.
How much money must an Indian student show for an Irish study visa?
The current finance rule requires immediate access to at least EUR 10,000 for a one-year course, in addition to tuition. That is evidence for the visa decision, not a complete Dublin budget. This page uses a separate EUR 21,600 upper living estimate.
