What is Griffith College Dublin MBA in International Business, and what does it cost?

Griffith runs this MBA and an MSc in International Business Management side by side, and on the published pages they teach the same thing. We compared both module lists on 1 September 2026 and all thirteen modules appear on both, with nothing unique to either. Budget about INR 48.62 lakh for the year.

So the honest question isn’t what the MBA teaches, it’s what the letters cost. The MBA asks for three years of managerial experience, a Competency Report and, for non-business graduates, an interview. The MSc asks for a business degree. Same modules, same non-EU fee, different door. Worth it if the title matters to your employer, and worth thinking hard about if it doesn’t.

How much does International Business MBA cost for an Indian student?

The upper twelve-month plan is EUR 44,185, about INR 48.62 lakh. It combines EUR 16,000 tuition, EUR 1,075 in currently listed compulsory charges, the upper EUR 27,050 Dublin postgraduate living estimate and a EUR 60 single-entry visa. Euro figures are the stable budgeting basis because exchange rates don’t stay fixed. The immigration floor proves funds, not cost.

ItemINRLocal currencyWhen it is due
Published non-EU tuitionINR 17.61 lakhEUR 16,000Offer and registration terms
Listed compulsory chargesINR 1.18 lakhEUR 1,075Current fee schedule
Upper Dublin living estimateINR 29.77 lakhEUR 27,050Across twelve months
Single-entry visaINR 6,603EUR 60At visa application
Upper full-programme planINR 48.62 lakhEUR 44,185Using the basis above

The EUR 10,000 immigration finance floor is evidence for a visa file, not a realistic estimate of one year in Dublin. Converted at EUR 1 = INR 110.0485, the ECB reference rate for 1 September 2026. Payment-provider rates differ. A refundable housing deposit and any instalment charge affect cash flow but are not treated as consumed programme cost.

Griffith’s central schedule lists EUR 16,000 tuition and EUR 1,075 in compulsory charges for this programme type. The live fee pages aren’t fully consistent on every label. The final amount must come from the offer and invoice.

If Griffith places the published EUR 2,000 bursary in the MBA offer, tuition plus current charges becomes EUR 15,075. The gross total stays in the headline because an applicant should not spend an award before it is documented.

The annual non-tuition assumption is Trinity’s current Dublin postgraduate range, not a Griffith quote. For an experienced MBA applicant, the budget should also account for the income given up during a full-time year, even though that opportunity cost is not included in the page total.

Griffith’s deposit, direct-debit and refund documents use different figures and terms. A written College reply should state the acceptance payment, non-refundable portion, visa-support payment and controlling refund policy for the exact MBA intake before authorising a transfer.

Irish student work permission is useful for incidental expenses, not for underwriting this MBA. The legal weekly limits do not guarantee a suitable job or stable shifts, and they do not reduce the money required for the visa file.

Can an Indian applicant meet the International Business MBA entry rules?

Three years of managerial experience is the real bar, not the degree class. Griffith asks for a primary honours degree in a business-related discipline or a postgraduate qualification, plus that experience, and puts non-business graduates through an interview. A Competency Report is sent to you after you apply.

Subject preparation (India)Business-related disciplineMap modules and work evidence to the exact course

Management experience (India)At least three years in a management roleShow scope, decisions, people, budget and results
Competency reportRequired by the current programme pageObtain the current pack before using the linked 2019/20 guide
InterviewMay be requestedPrepare evidence for every managerial claim

Three years of managerial experience means managing, not seniority by tenure. Write the application around what you decided and who reported to you, because that is what the Competency Report will ask you to evidence.

If you hold a non-business degree, the interview is the route and it is worth preparing as an interview, not a formality. Griffith publishes it as the mechanism by which those applicants are considered at all.

What most applicants miss

  1. The MSc next door teaches the same thirteen modules

We pulled both Griffith course pages on 1 September 2026 and compared the published module lists. Global Marketing, Digital Transformation, Corporate Governance and Sustainable Business Management, International Human Resource Strategies, Financial Management, Leadership in Organisations, Entrepreneurial Innovation, International Strategy, Business Research Methods and the four electives appear on both the MBA and the MSc in International Business Management. Thirteen of thirteen, nothing unique to either. For a non-EU student both also sit at the same EUR 16,000. If the MBA title isn’t doing specific work for you, the MSc gets you the same teaching without the experience requirement.

  2. No AMBA, no AACSB, no EQUIS

The three international MBA accreditations most applicants are told to look for appear nowhere on this programme’s page. We searched it on 1 September 2026 and found zero mentions of AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS. QQI validates the award at Level 9, which is a real quality signal about the qualification, and it is a different thing from an MBA accreditation. If a ranking or accreditation badge is part of why you want an MBA, check that before you pay a deposit rather than after.

  3. The Competency Report arrives after you apply, not before

    Griffith’s own answer
“For direct entry, applicants are required to complete a Competency Report, which will be sent after application.”Griffith College MBA in International Business
It is a written evidence exercise about your own management record, not a form. Applicants have historically been asked to write up competencies against real situations from their job, at a standard that would survive being shown to their own management. Leave time for it, and expect to need your employer’s cooperation on the detail.

How should an Indian applicant apply for International Business MBA?

Griffith displays September 2026 and February 2027 but publishes no single final programme deadline. The timeline uses 31 October 2026 as an Nbyula complete-file target for February 2027, not a Griffith deadline. Visa-required applicants are advised to apply at least three months before the programme begins. The award sits at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Begin by asking Griffith for the current MBA competency pack. The linked 2019/20 guide lists an application letter, role description, organisation profile, CV and competency report, but its continued validity needs confirmation. Then submit the passport, degree, transcripts, English evidence and current management material through Griffith's international route.

Start byTaskDaysWhy this date

03 Oct 2026Prepare the programme case21Align the CV, purpose and the current competency report with the exact curriculum.
24 Oct 2026Submit the Griffith application7Review every field and upload a complete document set.

The allowances are Nbyula planning estimates, not processing times published by Griffith College Dublin.

Griffith currently estimates a few working days for a typical online decision, but a management-evidence review or interview can extend the process. An automated submission receipt is not a decision on whether the experience qualifies.

Build examples around decisions taken, teams led, budgets owned and results delivered. Job titles and total employment years should be supported by role descriptions and references that show genuine managerial scope.

After an offer, the MBA file still needs tuition payment, finance evidence, insurance and visa documentation. Where fees exceed EUR 6,000, Irish immigration requires at least EUR 6,000 of tuition to be paid before the long-stay study visa application.

The offer team should supply the final document date, interview timing, payment date and late-arrival rule. The academic calendar describes teaching and registration, not the last safe date for an Indian visa file.

The displayed date is a planning target

It is not a Griffith deadline. A ready file, an English-pending file and an eligibility-exception file need different decisions.

What career evidence and Irish work rights follow International Business MBA?

Griffith publishes no employer list, placement rate or salary for this MBA, so there is no destination evidence to weigh. The most useful outcome fact here is a negative one about accreditation, and whether a management role carries a permit is set by the Critical Skills list.

MeasureFigureBasis
MBA accreditationNone publishedNo AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS mention on the programme page
AwardQQI Level 9, 90 ECTSValidated qualification, which is not the same as an MBA accreditation
Capstone30 ECTSDissertation, or a Dissertation by Practice run with an industry partner
Named employersNot publishedThe page lists role directions, not destinations
Graduate permission12 plus possible 12 monthsLevel 9 route, the second year is conditional

Griffith's graduate survey is pooled across the whole Dublin campus and every faculty. It says nothing specific about this programme.

The Dissertation by Practice route is the part of this MBA with real career leverage, because it is a supervised project run with and for a company rather than a library exercise. Griffith does not publish who sources the partner, so ask that question at interview, not after enrolment.

Everything else on the outcomes side is unpublished. There is no hiring count, no salary median and no named destination for this cohort, so treat the listed roles as the market’s shape rather than as evidence about Griffith graduates.

Who should apply for International Business MBA, and who should not?

This suits a working manager who wants the MBA letters and can evidence three years of running people or budgets. For almost everyone else, the MSc in International Business Management next door teaches the same thirteen modules at the same non-EU fee, without asking for the management record.

VerdictYour backgroundWhy
Strong fitA manager with three or more years leading people or budgetsThat is the published entry rule and the Competency Report is built around it.
Strong fitSomeone whose employer or sector specifically values an MBA titleThe title is the differentiator here, because the teaching is shared with the MSc.
Needs evidenceA non-business graduate with substantial experienceGriffith considers you subject to interview, so the route exists but is not automatic.
Do not shortlistA recent graduate with no management recordThree years of managerial experience is the rule, and no fee or grade compensates for it.
Do not shortlistAnyone choosing on international MBA accreditationAMBA, AACSB and EQUIS appear nowhere on the programme page.
Do not shortlistAnyone who wants the content rather than the titleThe MSc in International Business Management publishes the same thirteen modules at the same non-EU fee.

Put the two Griffith pages side by side before deciding. They are a click apart, the module lists match, and the non-EU price is the same. That comparison takes five minutes and it is the single most useful thing you can do with this page.

If the answer is that you want the MBA title, the entry requirements stop being an obstacle and start being the point, because they are what make the cohort a room full of managers.

What does the 90 ECTS International Business MBA contain?

Nine core modules and four electives, then a 30 ECTS capstone that can be written as a traditional dissertation or run as a supervised industry project. The taught stage is 60 ECTS. QQI's approved delivery split is 80 percent classroom and 20 percent online for the full-time route.

ComponentECTSWhere it sits
Taught stage60Management modules, research methods and the published elective structure
Capstone30Dissertation or Dissertation by Practice Industry Project
Total90
  • The full master's requires 90 ECTS
  • The 30 ECTS capstone is not a published placement

The MBA combines general-management subjects with international strategy, innovation and digital change. Applicants should ask which listed modules are compulsory, which are electives and whether the same choices run in February, because the public list does not guarantee every option in every intake.

The capstone can be a conventional dissertation or a Dissertation by Practice Industry Project. This is an assessed academic route, not a promised employer placement. The unresolved points are who sources the project, how external access works and what alternative applies when no organisation is available.

The QQI review describes the full-time route as 80% classroom and 20% online, with an approved maximum cohort of 60 per intake. These are validation parameters, not a current timetable or actual class-size report. Obtain the weekly schedule before arranging work or accommodation.

A 60 ECTS Postgraduate Diploma in International Business is listed as an embedded exit. It is not the same award as the MBA, so do not assume identical academic or immigration treatment.

Should an Indian applicant shortlist International Business MBA?

Shortlist this if you have the management record and want the MBA title. If you want the teaching, compare it against Griffith’s own MSc in International Business Management first, because the published module lists are identical and the non-EU fee, set out in the non-EU fee schedule, is the same.

The year covers global marketing, digital transformation, corporate governance and sustainability, international HR, financial management, leadership, entrepreneurial innovation and international strategy, then a 30 ECTS capstone that can be run as an industry project. It is a coherent general management year. What it is not is a differentiated curriculum, and Griffith's own two pages are the evidence.

Two things are worth knowing before a deposit. There is no AMBA, AACSB or EQUIS accreditation on this programme, so if an accreditation badge is part of the plan it isn't here. And the Competency Report is sent after you apply, which means the work that decides your direct-entry application happens after you have already committed time to the process.

Key takeaways
  • The current non-EU tuition is EUR 16,000, before listed compulsory charges and any confirmed bursary.
  • The programme is a 12-month, 90 ECTS QQI award at NFQ Level 9 in Dublin.
  • A conventional three-year Indian bachelor's degree is not a clean match for the normal Level 8 entry floor.
  • The MBA requires three years in a management role, its linked competency guide is labelled 2019/20, and QQI required clearer differentiation from related MSc provision.
  • The final programme deadline is unpublished, and the full-time route is the relevant path for a visa-required Indian applicant.

Frequently asked questions

What is the current tuition for International Business MBA?

For International Business MBA, Griffith's linked non-EU schedule lists EUR 16,000 tuition and EUR 1,075 in compulsory charges. The document applies from September 2025 onwards and remains subject to change. The intake offer must confirm the fee and reconcile other live fee wording.

What is the full cost of International Business MBA for an Indian student?

This page's upper plan for International Business MBA is EUR 44,185, about INR 48.62 lakh. It adds gross tuition, listed charges, the upper current Dublin postgraduate living benchmark and one single-entry visa. A refundable room deposit can raise early cash needs without becoming consumed programme cost.

Can a three-year Indian bachelor's degree meet the entry rule?

It is not a clean normal-route match for International Business MBA. QQI generally compares a conventional three-year Indian bachelor's degree with NFQ Level 7, while this course asks for a 2.2 honours award at Level 8. Obtain Griffith's written alternative-route decision before paying.

What IELTS score does Griffith require?

For direct entry to International Business MBA, the current central table gives IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no component below 6.0. Other recognised tests and supported entry are separate routes. Supported entry carries extra English study and progression conditions and is not the direct standard.

Are September 2026 and February 2027 applications open?

Griffith currently displays both intakes for International Business MBA, but no single final programme deadline is published. A new Indian lead should treat September 2026 as relevant only if an offer or visa is already held. Confirm February availability, documents, payment and late arrival with the offer team.

How much management experience does the Griffith MBA require?

The published requirement is at least three years in a management role. Griffith also asks for a competency report and may interview the applicant. Useful examples show decision-making, team responsibility, budget ownership and measurable results. Total employment time without managerial scope does not meet the rule automatically.

Does Griffith publish a placement rate for this programme?

Griffith publishes no audited placement rate or median salary for International Business MBA. It also gives no hiring count or graduate destination table for this cohort. The pooled Dublin survey covers the institution and states its response rate, so it cannot become a course-level job probability.

Is a two-year Irish stay-back automatic after this master's?

No. After a qualifying Level 9 International Business MBA award, the initial graduate permission is 12 months. A further 12 months depends on evidence of suitable job-search progress. This is time to seek work, not a job, sponsorship or employment-permit guarantee.
