What is the MLU Halle-Wittenberg MSc Bioinformatics?

MLU’s German-taught Bioinformatics MSc brings biology and computer-science graduates into a shared computational biology programme. The first 40 CP depend on the entrant’s background, with informatics for biologists and biosciences for computer scientists. Sequence analysis, genomics and biological networks then lead towards research study and a 30 CP thesis.

The selected Summer 2027 intake uses a 15 December 2026 foreign-degree deadline through uni-assist. MLU charges no ordinary tuition for these consecutive master’s routes. Every enrolled student still pays the semester contribution. Holding the winter 2026/27 amount constant over four terms shows the arithmetic but does not promise that later contributions will stay unchanged.

The monthly amount is a finance benchmark, not a Halle rent quote. A real budget needs room for housing deposits, flights, residence permits, exchange spreads and spending above the official minimum.

The current APS rule may also require dMAT for a named engineering, business or economics degree. That conditional EUR 150 is left outside the headline total because it does not apply to every Indian applicant.

   The examination board may admit someone with no more than 30 CP of missing prior knowledge. Assigned modules must be completed before thesis registration and aren’t part of the 120 CP MSc.

How should an Indian applicant apply for MLU Halle-Wittenberg MSc Bioinformatics?

The file isn’t a VPD request and should contain APS, German proof and module evidence from both computing and bioscience. A computer-science entrant needs the opposite proof. A technically polished pipeline is incomplete if the candidate can’t explain the biological assumptions, experimental context and limits of the dataset.

Doctoral applications can build on the research study and thesis when they produce a focused computational-biology question. Funding, supervisor capacity and access to a suitable dataset remain separate constraints that the degree doesn’t resolve.
