Georgia the country offers at least 5 officially documented English MBA, EMBA or joint-MBA routes, but it is a sensible choice only when the exact route matches your experience, has usable current evidence and supports a credible career plan. The published price spread runs from the GAU English MBA at USD 8,000 total for 2026/27 to the 2026 CU-GEM joint MBA at EUR 18,900 total for a non-Georgian citizen. Neither figure tells you whether a programme fits. A useful shortlist identifies the English format, experience rule, fee unit, final programme decision and intended labour market before it ranks prices. The wider study in Georgia decision remains a separate country-level choice.
The official pages do not form one clean ranking because route descriptions, prices and decision records have different dates and levels of completeness. At the dated conversion used below, tuition alone runs from about INR 4.30 lakh for the one-year GAU EMBA to INR 20.81 lakh for CU-GEM. A family also needs the study period and a credible monthly living model. The comparison first removes formats that do not fit the applicant’s career stage, then identifies the written record needed before payment.
Is Georgia a sensible place for your MBA?
There is no universally best MBA in Georgia because the routes serve different career stages and several current evidence gaps remain. A lower fee can be useful, but only after the programme language, experience rule, complete fee unit and final accreditation evidence are known. The exact route is the decision. The country label and the MBA label are not enough.
The useful first cut is career stage. A standard MBA can suit an earlier-career applicant, an EMBA is designed around substantial management experience, and CU-GEM is a separate joint part-time proposition. Each survives only if the named award, current intake and applicant purpose line up. The following sections test experience, cost, academic status and selection separately.
| Evidence position | What it means for your shortlist |
|---|---|
| Current format, experience rule and complete fee unit are published | The route can enter a cost comparison, with programme accreditation still checked separately |
| The programme is visible but one current route document is missing | The route can remain provisional, with the absent record named in the written evidence request |
| The fee comes from an old or conflicting guide and no later written price is available | The amount cannot be used as a 2027 or 2028 payment basis |
A Georgia MBA is most defensible when you need one of the specific formats documented below and your intended employer or market values that qualification. It is a weaker decision when the plan depends on an assumed scholarship, an old accreditation label, a generic promise of jobs or a fee copied without its duration.
That verdict leaves a practical question. The route formats need to be separated before experience and price can be compared.
Which English MBA formats are actually available?
English study is available as a standard 120 ECTS MBA, a shorter 60 ECTS EMBA and a jointly delivered part-time MBA, but these qualifications are not interchangeable. ECTS is the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, a workload measure used by Georgian programmes. A 120 ECTS route normally represents more study than a 60 ECTS executive route.
The UG English MBA curriculum carries 120 ECTS over four visible semesters and includes a 30 ECTS thesis. The CU international MBA listing also carries 120 ECTS over two years. The CU-GEM route is a different, jointly delivered programme for working applicants.
| Route | Published format | Published duration or workload | Published fee unit | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| University of Georgia English MBA | Standard MBA in English | 120 ECTS, four curriculum semesters | See the cost evidence below | The curriculum establishes format, not a complete payment quote |
| Caucasus University standalone MBA | English MBA with Finance, Management or Marketing | 2 years, 120 ECTS | USD 5,000 per year | The international format differs from CU’s domestic MBA Part I |
| CU and GEM joint MBA | English, part-time, jointly delivered | 22 months plus a final paper in the 2026 cohort document | EUR 18,900 total for a non-Georgian citizen | The 2026 sources expose different completion descriptions, so the contract must settle the award, ECTS and formal period |
| Georgian American University MBA | Standard English MBA | 2 years, 120 ECTS | USD 4,000 per year, USD 8,000 total | The published schedule belongs to 2026/27 |
| Georgian American University EMBA | English executive MBA | 1 year, 60 ECTS | USD 4,500 total | Requires five years in management or administration and does not lead to doctoral entry |
| SEU English MBA | Standard English MBA | 2 years, 120 ECTS | See the dated cost evidence below | The programme document establishes format only |
| SEU English EMBA | English executive MBA | 1 year, 60 ECTS in the 2026 programme | See the dated cost evidence below | The five-year management or administration rule applies |
The University of Georgia English MBA and Caucasus University standalone MBA both carry 120 ECTS. That shared workload places them in the same broad academic format, but it does not make their curriculum, schedule or selection identical.
The CU and GEM joint MBA isn’t merely another name for the CU standalone route. It is a part-time joint programme with a separate three-year experience threshold and EUR 18,900 total price for the documented 2026 non-Georgian citizen cohort. The Georgian American University MBA uses a two-year standard format, while the Georgian American University EMBA uses one year, 60 ECTS and a five-year management or administration threshold.
SEU’s English MBA and EMBA complete the documented format set. The current programme files establish their different workloads and intended audiences. Price evidence is assessed separately because it does not determine what either qualification is designed to do.
The CU-GEM route needs especially careful reading. The 2026 cohort document describes 22 months part-time plus a final paper, while broader CU material has shown a different formal duration. The award wording, total ECTS and formal completion period therefore belong in the 2027/28 contract, not in an assumption based on the MBA name.
A 60 ECTS EMBA is a valid business and administration master’s format under Georgia’s national framework, but it serves an experienced applicant and has a different academic consequence. The GAU EMBA doesn’t provide entry to doctoral study. The route is shorter, not a compressed substitute for every purpose served by a 120 ECTS MBA.
Broader university selection in Georgia includes non-MBA business master’s routes. Those routes are outside this MBA comparison because a different award should not be ranked as though it were the same qualification.
How much work experience do you need?
The published experience requirement ranges from no minimum stated on the reviewed international page to five years for an EMBA. No minimum stated means the university page is silent. It does not mean that freshers are guaranteed admission or that experience has no role in selection.
The applicant needs to count experience after the bachelor’s award where the route says so. The CU-GEM joint MBA requires at least three years of full-time work experience after the bachelor’s degree. The national EMBA framework requires at least five years of professional experience in management or administration.
| Experience position | Route evidence | What the wording establishes |
|---|---|---|
| No minimum published | UG English MBA, CU international standalone MBA and GAU 120 ECTS English MBA | The reviewed page does not state a number. Admission without experience is not guaranteed |
| 2 years | CU domestic MBA Part I | This belongs to the separate domestic route and cannot be assigned to the international 120 ECTS row |
| 3 years after the bachelor’s degree | CU-GEM joint MBA | A graduate with only two years after the degree does not meet the published threshold |
| 5 years in management or administration | GAU EMBA and the national EMBA rule | General work history is not enough unless it satisfies the stated management or administration condition |
A fresher can keep UG, the CU international standalone route and the GAU standard MBA under consideration because their reviewed international pages publish no numeric minimum. The same fresher cannot treat CU-GEM or an EMBA as equivalent alternatives. A candidate with five suitable years may compare an EMBA’s shorter duration with the fuller academic workload of a 120 ECTS MBA.
Experience removes some routes before money enters the decision. The remaining routes can now be compared over their actual study periods.
What does an MBA in Georgia cost in rupees?
Published tuition converts to roughly INR 4.30 lakh to INR 26.44 lakh in the documented rows, but those endpoints mix current, dated and unresolved evidence. The NBG table dated 14 August 2026 produces USD 1 as INR 95.44, EUR 1 as INR 110.11 and GEL 1 as INR 36.47. These are planning conversions, not the final remittance rate charged by a bank or provider.
Approximate tuition in INR = source fee multiplied by the dated NBG cross-rate
For example, the GAU MBA states USD 8,000 total. USD 8,000 multiplied by INR 95.44 gives INR 7.64 lakh. The calculation is complete because the source labels the fee total and supplies a two-year duration. UG’s USD 4,000 figure cannot be multiplied safely because the published fee page does not label that amount annual or total.
| Route | Source fee and unit | Duration arithmetic | Approx. tuition (INR) | Evidence limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UG English MBA | USD 4,000, unit not labelled | Total cannot be calculated safely | INR 3.82 lakh per published fee unit | Fee unit unresolved |
| CU standalone MBA | USD 5,000 per year | 2 multiplied by USD 5,000 | INR 9.54 lakh total | The fee period and course length support this calculation |
| CU-GEM joint MBA | EUR 18,900 total | Total already stated | INR 20.81 lakh total | 2026 non-Georgian citizen price |
| GAU English MBA | USD 4,000 per year, USD 8,000 total | 2 multiplied by USD 4,000 | INR 7.64 lakh total | 2026/27 price |
| GAU English EMBA | USD 4,500 total | 1 year | INR 4.30 lakh total | 2026/27 price |
| SEU English MBA | USD 27,700 list, USD 14,900 after stated scholarship | 2 years | INR 26.44 lakh list, INR 14.22 lakh after stated scholarship | The June 2025 MBA guide is not a later-intake quote |
| SEU English EMBA | USD 13,850 list, USD 7,450 after stated scholarship | 1 year | INR 13.22 lakh list, INR 7.11 lakh after stated scholarship | The dated EMBA amount still needs a 2027/28 replacement |
Tuition converted with the dated NBG cross-rates stated above
Tuition is only the first part of the duration cost. The UG incoming-student guide places monthly housing at GEL 800 to 1,500 and other spending at GEL 900 to 1,100, with rent outside the second figure. Together, those inputs produce GEL 1,700 to 2,600 a month, approximately INR 62,000 to INR 94,800.
| Study period | Monthly living range (GEL) | Approx. living total (INR) | Route example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 months | GEL 1,700 to 2,600 | INR 7.44 lakh to INR 11.38 lakh | One-year GAU or SEU EMBA |
| 22 months | GEL 1,700 to 2,600 | INR 13.64 lakh to INR 20.86 lakh | CU-GEM cohort duration before any additional final-paper period |
| 24 months | GEL 1,700 to 2,600 | INR 14.88 lakh to INR 22.76 lakh | Two-year standard MBA |
Living-cost effect at INR 36.47 per GEL on 14 August 2026
Full study budget = tuition + living for the full duration + visa and residence costs + insurance + travel + books and equipment + exchange spread + transfer fees + emergency reserve
A GAU worked example makes the duration effect visible. The midpoint living input is GEL 2,150 a month. Over 24 months, that converts to about INR 18.82 lakh. Adding GAU tuition of INR 7.64 lakh gives INR 26.46 lakh before accommodation deposits, insurance, visa, residence permit, translations, notarisation, EQE recognition, flights, devices, books, exchange spread, transfer fees, repeat-course charges and an emergency reserve.
A one-year EMBA lasts 12 months in this cost model. The model uses 22 months for the documented CU-GEM cohort period and 24 months for a two-year MBA. Any extra final-paper period, delayed completion or repeated course adds living costs beyond the row shown. The formal university schedule therefore has a direct cash effect even when tuition itself stays unchanged.
The complete cost of studying and living in Georgia contains the broader housing and recurring-cost method. The compact model here exists only to compare MBA durations.
Can you rely on a scholarship?
No, a scholarship should not reduce the base budget until the official terms prove your eligibility, amount and renewal. GAU publishes awards after the first semester, while SEU’s later 2025 guide shows scholarship-adjusted prices without enough criteria to support an Indian applicant’s final budget.
| Published offer | Full-price planning figure | Conditional figure | Missing evidence before using the reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| GAU GPA award after the first semester | USD 8,000 MBA or USD 4,500 EMBA | 50% for first place and 25% for second place | Written international-student eligibility, ranking pool, covered semester and renewal terms |
| SEU June 2025 stated scholarship | USD 27,700 MBA or USD 13,850 EMBA | USD 14,900 MBA or USD 7,450 EMBA after the stated reduction | Current 2027/28 fee, selection criteria, award certainty, covered period and renewal terms |
The SEU June 2025 guide is later than the March guide, but later does not mean current for 2027 or 2028. The full price remains the safe planning figure until SEU supplies a current offer with the student’s scholarship conditions. GAU’s award also begins only after academic performance can be ranked, so it cannot fund the first semester.
An affordable route still needs academic evidence. That check isn’t the same as the university’s legal status or an international business-school badge.
How should you check accreditation?
You should separate institution authorisation, Georgian programme accreditation and international business-school accreditation. The EQE accreditation process evaluates a named educational programme. A university’s authority to operate does not prove that a particular English MBA has a current final programme decision.
A final EQE decision should identify the exact programme, language, decision number, date and validity end. An expert report or record that a report was received is not the same document. This difference matters in the CU evidence. Decision 746557 was positive with conditions but valid only to 28 July 2025. A separate 2022 EQE record documents receipt of a report rather than a later final accreditation decision.
| Evidence item | Present finding | What it proves |
|---|---|---|
| CU standalone MBA final EQE decision | Located decision expired on 28 July 2025 | It proves the old decision period, not current accreditation in 2026 or later |
| UG, GAU and SEU English programme evidence | Programme pages or reports exist, but current final decision cards were not located | The programmes are documented, while current national accreditation remains unresolved |
| GEM school accreditation | AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA are current GEM accreditations | They support GEM as the partner school, not CU’s standalone MBA or another Georgian programme |
International accreditation can add useful school-level evidence, but it does not replace the Georgian programme decision. A route should receive a current national-accreditation label only when the final decision number, decision date and validity end are available for the exact language and award.
Once a route survives that evidence check, an Indian applicant still has to connect degree records, language proof and university-specific selection.
What are the admission steps for an Indian applicant?
An Indian applicant normally needs an exact programme shortlist, the university’s document instructions, recognition of the foreign qualification, accepted English evidence and any route-specific test or interview. EQE recognition and university admission are separate decisions. One establishes the foreign education record in Georgia, while the other determines admission to the chosen MBA.
EQE explains its recognition function in precise terms.
the Center verifies the authenticity of an educational document, issued by a foreign institution and establishes the compatibility of the qualification
National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, foreign education recognition
The recognition service requires educational documents translated into Georgian and notarised. The university should state whether it submits the recognition application, asks the student to do so or needs written consent before that stage.
| Step | Applicant input | Institution or authority action | Result needed before the next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Exact English MBA or EMBA route, work history and intended intake | University supplies the current document and selection requirements | A route-specific admission checklist rather than a generic university list |
| 2 | Degree, transcript and required translations or notarisation | EQE verifies authenticity and compatibility through the foreign-education recognition process | A recognition result or the university’s stated prior-consent route |
| 3 | Accepted English evidence | University and the applicable national mechanism assess the programme language | Written acceptance of the exact certificate or examination route |
| 4 | Route-specific test, interview or examination registration | University conducts its selection and records the outcome | A formal admission decision for the named route |
| 5 | Verified fee, refund terms and payment evidence | University issues the enrolment documents needed for the immigration stage | A complete file for the separate student-visa process |
English evidence varies by programme. The UG English MBA publishes B2 routes including IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 80 and a UG test with a 70% threshold. The GAU MBA page also publishes a B2 test and interview mechanism. CU-GEM uses broader English-fluency wording and says applicants must register for and pass the Unified Master’s Exam.
The Unified Master’s Exam wording cannot be silently removed for an Indian applicant. The current CU-GEM page states that applicants must register and pass, and no official source in the reviewed evidence establishes an Indian exemption. The published requirement applies unless CU identifies the exact examination-free legal route and supporting documents in writing.
For an MBA application under the rules effective from 1 September 2026, obtain written confirmation of the language evidence accepted for the exact route. Final Law No. 1811 is the controlling amendment, while Parliament’s notice provides explanatory context. The Georgia universities guide explains the general language-law change. For this MBA decision, do not assume that a pre-commencement programme page settles a later intake.
Can the MBA pay for itself?
It can pay for itself only if your post-MBA take-home pay rises enough to recover the full study cost within a period you accept. We haven’t found an official placement or programme-specific graduate salary report for the shortlisted Georgia routes, so a payback claim must use your own target role and a clearly labelled salary assumption.
Payback months = full study cost divided by expected monthly post-tax salary increase
The salary increase is future take-home pay minus current take-home pay. It is not the whole future salary. For the GAU example, tuition of INR 7.64 lakh plus midpoint living of INR 18.82 lakh gives INR 26.46 lakh before the excluded costs. A current monthly take-home of INR 50,000 and assumed future take-home of INR 90,000 produce an assumed monthly increase of INR 40,000.
| Applicant assumption | Higher-uplift case | Lower-uplift sensitivity |
|---|---|---|
| Simplified study cost before exclusions | INR 26.46 lakh | INR 26.46 lakh |
| Current monthly take-home | INR 50,000 | Applicant supplies own figure |
| Assumed future monthly take-home | INR 90,000 | Applicant supplies a lower supported figure |
| Assumed monthly salary increase | INR 40,000 | INR 20,000 |
| Calculated payback before exclusions | About 66 months, or 5.5 years | About 132 months, or 11 years |
The two results show why an MBA salary claim without a target role is weak. Halving the assumed increase doubles the payback period. Adding flights, insurance, permits, exchange costs and foregone earnings extends it further. A sound estimate also records the target country, employer evidence and legal route to work there.
Geostat reports average monthly nominal earnings of GEL 2,363.8 across employees in Q1 2026. Its business-sector series reports GEL 2,335.9. These are gross economy-wide averages, not MBA salaries, placement outcomes or a forecast for an international graduate. They provide context only and should not replace role-specific evidence.
The payback case also depends on whether the graduate can lawfully pursue the assumed work in the chosen country.
What happens after graduation?
An MBA doesn’t create an automatic post-study work right in Georgia. When the study basis ends, the graduate needs an independent lawful basis to stay and the applicable right to work under the rules then in force.
The State Services Development Agency lists study and work residence permits as separate categories. The final consolidated Labour Migration law, publication 8, contains the current work-right consequence and includes the June 2026 amendments. The current unversioned Legal Status law separately defines residence categories, while final Law No. 1803 records specified changes effective from 1 September 2026.
a work residence permit, a D1 category immigration visa and/or any other residence permit specified by the legislation of Georgia
Law of Georgia on Labour Migration, final consolidated publication 8
The quoted list sits inside a wider legal condition that includes the relevant employment agreement and right to work unless an exemption applies. Government Ordinance No. 70 established the right-to-work procedure from 1 March 2026. The latest listed consolidated publication 3 incorporates Ordinance No. 321 of 9 July 2026. The public English material does not expose a readable consolidated procedure, so this MBA page does not turn those Georgian texts into a step-by-step promise.
The current consequence is enough for the MBA decision. An assumed Georgia salary increase is not usable unless the candidate separately qualifies for lawful stay and work. The detailed Georgia student visa and work-right rules own the D3, study-residence and work-authorisation process.
Which route fits your profile?
The best provisional route depends first on your experience and academic purpose. Budget enters only after that fit is established, and payment waits until the relevant current records have been collected.
The matrix below is not a ranking. It matches a profile to the strongest present route evidence and names the next document that determines whether the route stays on the shortlist.
| Your profile | Route to examine first | Why it may fit | Evidence needed before payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fresher or applicant with little post-bachelor experience | UG English MBA or GAU standard MBA | The reviewed international pages publish no numeric threshold | A complete current offer and selection checklist |
| Applicant with two to four years who wants a standard MBA | CU standalone MBA or GAU standard MBA | Both are full-length international formats | The complete route file described below |
| Applicant with at least three post-bachelor years who wants a joint part-time route | CU-GEM joint MBA | The career-stage and delivery match is explicit | A signed 2027/28 offer covering every open item |
| Applicant with five suitable years who wants a one-year executive format | GAU English EMBA | The published format fits that experience category | A current programme pack and signed offer |
| Applicant choosing SEU mainly for a low quoted fee | SEU MBA or EMBA | The programme files exist, but price is driving the choice | A fresh written quote and complete route file |
The matrix narrows the first route to investigate. It does not replace the documentary checks required before payment.
What should you verify before paying?
A complete pre-payment file should prove the exact 2027 or 2028 programme, price, accreditation status and admission route. An agent table, old PDF or payment message is not enough on its own because the present official evidence contains both expired accreditation and conflicting fees.
- Obtain the 2027/28 fee in writing with the currency, annual or total unit, instalment dates, deposit and refund terms.
- Record the exact award, teaching language, ECTS, formal duration, schedule, campus and intake date.
- Save the current final EQE programme decision with its number, date and validity end, using the official accreditation mechanism rather than an expert report.
- Match the work-experience definition to employment evidence, including whether the years must follow the bachelor’s award or fall within management or administration.
- Obtain the final accepted English proof and national language-certificate or examination treatment after 1 September 2026.
- Record every interview, internal test or Unified Master’s Exam condition for the exact international route.
- Keep scholarship eligibility, amount, ranking pool, covered term and renewal conditions separate from the full fee.
- Identify who completes foreign-education recognition and which translated and notarised documents are required.
- Convert the fee with the current NBG reference method, then add the provider’s spread and transfer cost.
- Count living costs for every study month and add insurance, immigration, travel, equipment and emergency funds.
- Keep the MBA admission decision separate from the later residence and work basis.
Place every answer in one folder beside its dated source. Any blank keeps the route provisional, while a changed document triggers a new cost or fit decision.
- Start with career stage and intended use, then open only the formats that match both.
- Request one dated programme pack instead of assembling an offer from unrelated webpages.
- Model every study month and keep the original billing currency visible until conversion.
- Run at least two personal salary-uplift cases before treating the degree as financially workable.
- Keep academic admission records and later immigration records in separate evidence folders.
Frequently asked questions
Is the MBA taught in English?
Several named routes are taught in English, including the UG, CU standalone, CU-GEM, GAU and SEU programmes discussed here. English delivery must still be checked against the exact programme and intake. A domestic MBA page, partial-English executive route or university-wide English claim cannot establish the language of your chosen award.
Can a fresher apply for an MBA in Georgia?
Possibly. The reviewed UG and GAU standard MBA pages state no numeric experience threshold, but silence is not an admission promise. The university must still assess the applicant’s degree, language evidence and overall fit. Joint and executive formats publish higher career-stage requirements.
Is GMAT required for an MBA in Georgia?
No universal GMAT rule appears across the reviewed routes. Selection still varies: some pages name English assessment or an interview, while CU-GEM currently names Georgia’s Unified Master’s Exam. Ask for the exact international selection sequence and any exemption document before applying.
Is a one-year EMBA equivalent to a two-year MBA?
No. The routes target different career stages and academic purposes. An executive format may suit an experienced manager seeking a shorter applied course, while a standard MBA provides a larger workload. Compare the curriculum, assessment and later academic use, not only calendar length.
Does an EMBA in Georgia lead to a doctorate?
Not through the short business and administration master’s format described in the national higher-education framework. A prospective doctoral applicant in Georgia should obtain written progression confirmation for a qualifying master’s route before choosing an executive programme mainly for its shorter calendar.
Can MBA students work in Georgia?
Only when the person meets the employment and residence rules that apply to the specific situation. The current Labour Migration law governs that assessment. Treat any future salary as usable only after the lawful route for the intended employment is confirmed.
Which SEU MBA fee is current?
Neither reviewed document establishes a 2027 or 2028 quote. The March 2025 guide and June 2025 guide differ materially. Request a fresh offer for your exact MBA or EMBA that states the full price, any award conditions and payment schedule.
Is GEM accreditation the same as CU accreditation?
No. AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA describe GEM as a business school. Those badges cannot be transferred to CU’s standalone MBA or another Georgian award. Check the Georgian programme record for the exact route named in the offer, including a jointly delivered qualification.
