What is the TUS Quantity Surveying MSc in Limerick?

TUS MSc Quantity Surveying is a one-year, 90-ECTS Level 9 conversion and progression course at Coonagh in Limerick. Central non-EU tuition is EUR 20,500 for 2026/27, about INR 22.83 lakh. A one-year plan using current living and immigration figures is about INR 42.23 lakh.

Its nine taught modules cover measurement, BIM costing, procurement, commercial management, contracts and risk before a 30-ECTS dissertation. September 2026 is closed and September 2027 availability remains unpublished. SCSI lists the exact MSc, but graduation still doesn’t confer chartered status or entry on the statutory register.

How much does TUS MSc Quantity Surveying cost?

The one-year planning total is EUR 37,926, about INR 42.23 lakh. It uses the higher central tuition figure, twelve months of Limerick living and current application, visa and registration charges. Insurance, flights and refundable housing deposits remain outside it. The central table contributes EUR 20,500 tuition.

TUS requires at least EUR 6,000 within three months of the conditional offer for this high-demand course. It sits inside tuition and also meets the current immigration tuition-payment minimum. Converted at EUR 1 = INR 111.3475, the ECB reference rate on 26 August 2026. Provider rates differ. Insurance, flights and refundable housing deposits are excluded.

The central international table prints EUR 20,500, while the separate 2026/27 schedule prints EUR 18,500. The EUR 2,000 gap is material. The higher amount is used for planning, while the offer and written TUS Global confirmation must settle the actual invoice.

TUS estimates Limerick living at EUR 1,418 monthly. Private medical insurance is separately estimated at EUR 150 to EUR 500 yearly and is excluded because the premium depends on the policy. A competitive postgraduate award may reach EUR 4,000, but it isn’t guaranteed.

This course is on the high-demand payment list. At least EUR 6,000 of invoiced tuition is due within three months of a conditional offer or the place can be forfeited. That sum isn’t an additional fee, but it is an early and binding cash-flow requirement.

A built-environment degree at 2.2 is the direct route, while professional qualification plus two years or another degree plus five years can support experienced candidates. India’s table states 60 percent for a four-year BTech or BE in Quantity Surveying, and an interview can apply to every route.

The five-year route still needs a primary degree and evidence of professional responsibility, not merely employment duration. Special RPL cases can be discussed with the department, but TUS publishes no automatic formula for them.

IELTS 6.5 requires no band below 6.0 under the central table. The course page publishes no GRE or GMAT requirement. Academic route, interview evidence and English are separate decisions.

Three checks that decide an Indian file

1. A three-year Indian route is not published

   The central table names four-year BTech and BE awards for Quantity Surveying. It does not list BCom, BBA, BCA or a three-year bachelor’s as an accepted route for this subject.

2. Professional membership and experience travel together

   The professional route requires an appropriate built-environment qualification plus at least two years of relevant responsibility. Membership alone does not satisfy the published route.

3. Accreditation does not confer protected-title status

   SCSI listing establishes an educational pathway. APC, experience and entry on the statutory register remain separate steps before protected-title practice in Ireland.

How should an Indian applicant plan the TUS MSc Quantity Surveying application?

The prior Quantity Surveying cycle has ended, and TUS has not issued its 2027 replacement. TUS says the global cycle opens on 1 October 2026, but it publishes no deadline for this course. The planner therefore uses 1 June 2027 only as a contingency target for preparation, not as a TUS deadline.

A direct applicant chooses one course in the TUS international portal, uploads identity, academic, English, CV and reference evidence, and pays EUR 50. TUS says an academic update normally takes about two weeks.

Check degree fit and SCSI recognition first. The construction or cognate degree must match the entry rule, and the page records the current professional position. TUS has not yet published the programme's 2027 availability or actual closing date.

The allowances are Nbyula planning estimates, not processing times published by Technological University of the Shannon.

The last visa-required deadline was 1 June 2026. The planner’s 1 June 2027 date is deliberately labelled as an internal contingency target because TUS has not published the next deadline.

Experience-route applicants need membership records, role descriptions and evidence of professional responsibility before academic review. The direct built-environment route needs transcripts that make the degree class and subject relationship clear, while every route can still lead to an interview.

What jobs can follow TUS Quantity Surveying?

Graduate quantity surveying, cost consultancy, contractor-side commercial work and BIM cost analysis have the clearest fit. SOLAS identifies quantity surveyors as a shortage and the occupation appears on the Critical Skills list. TUS still publishes no placement rate, employer series or salary, and professional registration remains separate from graduation.

Graduation, SCSI accreditation, chartered membership, statutory registration and an employment permit are five separate decisions.

Graduate quantity surveyor, cost consultant, estimator and contract-administration support roles align with the module set. Senior commercial management or dispute work normally depends on practice experience, and an estimator role is not automatically classified as a quantity surveyor for permit purposes.

SCSI states that the title Quantity Surveyor is protected under the Building Control Act 2007 and limited to people on the statutory register. The MSc supports education toward the professional process but does not place a graduate on that register automatically.

Quantity surveyors are directly listed under Critical Skills. The relevant-degree salary floor is EUR 40,904, or EUR 36,848 for a qualification received within the preceding 12 months, alongside a qualifying two-year offer and all other employer and candidate conditions.

TUS publishes no programme placement rate, salary distribution, time-to-job measure or named employer list. The only named testimonial link returned 404, and no independent exact-programme account was found.

Who is TUS Quantity Surveying for, and who should avoid it?

The strongest fit is a built-environment graduate or experienced professional prepared for Irish measurement, procurement and contract practice. The weakest fit is someone expecting one year to confer chartered status or portable legal knowledge everywhere. The early EUR 6,000 payment also makes cash-flow readiness part of the decision.

The conversion is dense because the same year covers measurement, procurement, BIM costing, commercial management, disputes and a 30-ECTS dissertation. Non-cognate or internationally trained candidates may need additional support with Irish terminology and academic writing.

Someone who needs a placement, a working alumni outcome series or a final RICS confirmation from the professional body should not infer those from the TUS page. Only SCSI’s current listing was independently established in this sweep.

What does the 90-ECTS TUS Quantity Surveying curriculum contain?

Should an Indian applicant shortlist TUS Quantity Surveying?

Shortlist it if your built-environment education or professional experience supports an intensive Irish quantity-surveying conversion and you accept the later APC and registration steps. SCSI recognises the course, but professional qualification still requires the separate APC process after graduation in Ireland.

The strongest feature is a coherent professional curriculum across measurement, tendering, cost, BIM, contracts and disputes. SOLAS also identifies an occupation shortage. The tradeoff is that much of the legal and procurement content is Irish, so applicants targeting another jurisdiction must assess how well the frameworks transfer.

Professional recognition is a sequence, not an outcome handed over with the parchment. The MSc still requires the separate professional pathway before a graduate can use the chartered designation or join the register. Two modules are labelled elective even though both are needed for the printed list to reach 90 ECTS, and no placement or working alumni outcome link shows how this exact conversion performs.
